Pickleball in Jurupa Valley
Jurupa Valley does not yet have a confirmed public pickleball site on the current local park listings. The most dependable nearby option is The Grove in Riverside, where four courts are available by reservation and recurring public open play runs three times a week.
Where to Play
- The Grove Pickleball Courts: Four outdoor courts at 19900 Grove Community Dr, Riverside, CA 92508. Courts are open daily from 7 am to 10 pm except during church services and are available by reservation. Review the court access and waiver information before playing.
- Vernola Park Skyview Event Center Phase II: Jurupa Area Recreation and Park District plans pickleball overlays as part of a future project at 8621 Jurupa Rd, Jurupa Valley, CA 92509. This is not a current playing site, so do not travel there expecting pickleball courts.
The Grove's reserved court access is different from its open play periods. Reserve when bringing your own group; use open play when you need people to join.
Lessons and Beginner Help
No recurring beginner lesson is currently published for Jurupa Valley. A practical first outing is The Grove's Saturday open play from 9 am to noon. Review basic scoring first, arrive near the start, use the court level chart, and tell the waiting group that you are new.
The session is unsupervised and is not a formal clinic. Beginners who want coaching should contact The Grove sports ministry through the adult pickleball page and ask whether a current lesson or beginner orientation is available before registering for anything.
Open Play, Leagues, and Events
The Grove open play runs Monday and Thursday from 6 to 10 pm and Saturday from 9 am to noon. Court specific levels and rules apply, warmups are limited to two minutes when players are waiting, and all participants accept the posted waiver.
These are recurring public mixing periods. General court hours outside them require a reservation and do not guarantee partners.
Playing as a Visitor
A solo visitor should choose one of The Grove's three weekly open play windows, arrive early enough to review the court level signs, and ask the waiting group how rotation works. Saturday morning is the best starting point for a newcomer; experienced players can select the court matching their level.
If traveling with partners, reserve a court through the adult pickleball page instead. Players age 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult, and everyone should bring paddles, balls, water, and a plan around church service closures.
